Sample 001: Juice Testimony Screening

Road to Juice: Sample 001

For the month of March, Moxie is bringing the culture to you in small sips with thirst quenching events. To kick it off, on March 8, 2017, we hosted a Juice Testimony Screening at Café Sole in Jersey City, New Jersey. Café Sole is a hidden gem for the community and it allows creatives and artists alike to showcase any talent possible.

The first hour of the event acted as a mix and mingle; guest were encouraged to bring their own beverage, socialize, and catch the vibe. In no time, Café Sole was full of vibrant individuals that were all there for one cause, to connect. We had a plethora of personalities come through and experience what the hard workers of Moxie have been cooking up for the culture.

Going into the second hour, the viewing room was filling up to capacity and the host Juels Pierrot was getting ready to start the viewing of the testimonies. You could feel the anticipation in the room and the vibe was amazing throughout the entire vicinity. The testimony viewing went in the order of DJ Midnite, Kev Love, Mr. DT201, and lastly the wonderful songbird Eni. Each testimony was recorded by Juan Roque, with visuals by Chase Whetstone, and interviews by Juels Pierrot.

Each testimony adhered to every individual in the room; they saw that anything is possible as long as you’re persistent and want to accomplish a goal. The subjects of these testimonies are everyday people that decided to break out of the norm and trust their path. As soon as the viewings were finished, the crowd dished out a roaring applause and the purpose of the event was met.

Once the question and answer portion of the event opened up, so many hands were raised with eagerness. They wanted to be heard, and we wanted to hear them. This portion of the event went on for a while because the many people in attendance had a lot of intriguing questions to ask, and the panel was all ears.

Members of the audience asked questions such as “Does Jersey support each other?” because support is the foundation of any movement; it’s crucial. “What does one do when there is no plan b?” because many audience members found them-selves in the artists we featured. They [audience] wanted to figure out how does one gather the gall to step outside of their comfort zone when it seems like the odds aren’t in your favor. Kev Love answered that by simply saying “Just go for it.”

After the Q&A portion finished, the crowd went right back to mixing and mingling amongst the testimony subjects, staff, and other creatives in attendance. This was just the first sip of what Moxie has to offer, but it was a huge gulp of success.

Moving forward on March 17, 2017, another Moxie event Red Eye Flight: Juice DJ Battle will be taking place at Clearport in Jersey City, NJ. You don’t want to miss out!
